coaching refresher can be helpful
« on: January 15, 2006, 08:56:13 AM »
Even after you've taken extensive lessons reworking your game or just getting the mechanics down better, there are times you may need to go back for more coaching to just get a tune up. A second set of eyes and thoughts can be very helpful. Today I went back to my coach who I haven't worked with extensively since the summer, and within 5 minutes we were able to work on 2 things that I hadn't taken into consideration for current woes in my local league.

1) Firmness in wrist position throughout the entire delivery process.

2) Lofting the ball further on the lane (it's not one of my strong suits).

I noticed quickly the power I was able to generate and the types of carry I could get improved.

We'll see how this works out in league tomorrow, but I think I'll be going back to my coach at least once a month to work on retraining the muscle memory and also seeing what else he can give me to add to my game.
