If I bowl in adult leagues now.....could I still bowl for a college team or am I ineligible?

Mens College Bowling is not NCAA, so you are perfectly capable of bowling as an adult and still bowling collegiately. I didn't try out for my schools team this year, but I will be in exactly the same boat as you next year.

Be warned, you will not be able to compete in any other sports that are governed by the NCAA, but you can bowl adult leagues and bowl collegiately with no issue.

Might be a stupid question.....but what do you actually win bowling in college tournaments and such besides trophies and medals?

I'm pretty sure that's it...if I'm not mistaken there is cash to be made at every tournament, but that goes back into the program, not the bowler

The condition of the economy could greatly affect minor sports in college
next year.  Be careful where you go.

it isnt about the money in college money, trust me, we spend a lot and get nothing but the experiences, friendship, and knowledge from going out there every week and working our butts off...but to me that is priceless...

I know somebody who worked for the PBA, then went back to school for his masters, but still had a year of eligibility left, so he got to bowl college again.  So even if life gets in the way, guys can always go back and bowl college if they still have eligibility left.

There are some restrictions for former PBA members (i.e. you can only cash so many times, and you have to appeal with USBC to get your amateur status back before having eligibility instated).  

But, just bowling a men's league is fine.  

College bowling is a great experience, and if you love bowling and are thinking about college, it only makes sense to give it a shot.
