Color Phasing??

Just got a new ball shipped to me today and when I opened it, I was kinda disappointed because the colors are all screwed up from being in the cold too long during shipping.

Does anyone know of any techniques that can be used to restore the color of the ball? Is it possible?? Does color phasing affect the performance of the ball? Any help and/or advice would be appreciated. thx

Are you talking about the almost like, white highlights that one or some of the colors have after being cold? A couple balls that I've gotten that were supposed to be solid colored, my blue vibe for instance, came looking almost pearlized because of this. Recently my Pink Panther was the same way, riddled with white swirls through it. On the Vibe it went away rather quickly, and from what I could tell, didn't affect performance at all. I actually kind of like the look anyway, so I'm kind of glad that it hasn't gone away on the panther yet.

As far as how to make it go away, I've never really thought about it. I've never tried to make it go away honestly. It just did on the Vibe. Keep us posted.

I loved the phasing when I saw that happen to a ball. Supposedly, that kind of ball actually had a stronger reaction than those, of the same type and brand, without the phasing.

If you'd like to remove it, first let it settle down to room temperature for a day or two. Then use a stronger cleaner, like Clean and Dull or Hook-It or similar cleaner on the ball, using a clean micro-fiber towel and run fairly firmly. This will often, but not always remove the phasing. This is true if the phasing was brought about by the cold. I think it's the resin activator coming to the surface, but I could be wrong.

I've got a Morich Total Annihilation that did that. It stays in my bag in the house. Not sure what caused it. It kinda looks cool.

Most of the time its water moisture trapped in the cover.  Using a spinner and a clean, dry terrycloth towel to build up heat in the ball can pull some of the moisture out.  I've also seen faster results by hand with small amounts of acetone on a rag or paper towel.

Thanks for your input guys. I actually tried to wipe it down with denatured alcohol while it was still cold. Had little success there. Tried it again after it sat overnight, same deal, not much success. Hopefully it will gradually go away on its own. If not, I guess i'll just have to live with it.

The Pink Panther and Black Panther are both notorious for the white swirls appearing, looks kinda cool on the Pink but horrible on the Black.

Yeah it does seem to only happen to certain balls. This particular ball is an AMF Shredder.
