Columbia and Track Customer service a big thumbs down
« on: June 15, 2004, 07:49:13 AM »
I really did not want to rant about this, but I was
curious to see if any body else had these problems?
I bought a Track 3 ball roller last year and really liked
the bag. Thru me being careless, the handle broke. I got
in touch with track and they informed me that they no
longer carried the bag I had, hence no replacement parts.

They told me that they had an issue with the company
they getting the bags from because of not being able to
get replacement parts. They told me their new bags were
being made from Kr and that they would send me a new one.
Although I didn't really like the new bags, I understood.
I didn't have a problem with the customer service at this
time.

I received the new bag and in my opinion was an
inferior product from my orignal bag, but what do you do?
I had the bag for a couple of months and the handle got
bent. I called Track for a replacement handle and guess
what they told me? They don't carry replacement parts.
I was told by customer service to get in touch with Kr.
My response to them was that I didn't get the bag from
Kr, I got it from Track, to which I was told there was
nothing they could do.

I just recently purchased a Columbia formula 3 ball
roller. When I received it there was a problem with the
handle. A friend of mine looked at the bag and found that
the handle had a broken piece. Called Columbia customer
service and was told they had a recall on these bags.
What they told me to do was, send my bag back to the
person I bought it from, have that person send it back
to the distributor, and have them send it to Columbia.

Columbia wants me to pay to have the bag shipped, and
the person I bought it from to pay to have the bag shipped
and the distributor pay to have the bag shipped. Considering
the fact that they recalled the bag themselves, this is
completely ridiculous. To top is off, the person I talked
to in the customer service department at Track is the same
person I talked to at Columbia.

I have been in the retail business for over 20 years and
this is not good customer service much less good business
Needless to say I will not be purchasing anything else
from Track or Columbia. Customer service is atrocious.

I have never had a problem with Track's Customer Service. I have not dealt with them as C300 Customer Service though.

I know from personal experience though, when something is recalled or there is a warranty issue the customer almost always has to pay the shipping costs.

Sorry to hear about your problem, but I have had nothing but "GREAT" service from Track and their customer service.

It seems that they stand behind their balls, but try and
get something done with the bags. Good luck. Maybe I am
asking to much of a company, to stand behind all products
not just one.
