How We as Bowlers are We able to keep up with all of the Bowling Balls coming out? They are coming out by the Dozen every month. I remember when it was months before a Ball came and I would get excited to have the New Release. Now when You buy a New Release it's already old. I really think this is hurting Bowling.
A new ball every few months?
I come from a time when a new ball was expected to last several years! And the generation before me expected a new ball to last virtually forever.
The bowling "industry" has been grown on the backs of, and at the cost of, the consumer who has been constantly duped into thinking they needed it. We didn't.
That's why the ball companies killed the plastic ball tournaments after a while, because God forbid the general public find out that you can lower the amount of oil used on the lanes, use proper techniques, and still score like crazy with a ball that will basically last forever, RIGHT?
I know, I know, bowling has changed forever. Yea, yea, yea, but it didn't have to, nor did it need to. All it needed was proper promotion and people who cared enough to get involved, not new equipment and conditions to help make it easy for everyone.
