Comments on a new Hambone design?
« on: April 10, 2008, 06:35:11 AM »
I don't want comments on the term itself - I've got mixed feelings myself.
But what do you think of the design???

Nice design, but it doesn't remind me of a ham bone, sorry. Try something more "ham butt bone in" more like what you'd get at the store, if possible. JMO.

Mum,

I certainly respect you, however that isn't the design.  I wish I could give you what the design is, but I am not really sure there is one that will catch the attention of enough of a group of people to make it worth it.  The term just seems so scattered in regards to acceptance, T-shirts just don't make me jump up and say, "BUY ME!!!"

I agree! Seems like the bone should have some ham on it so it looks like a hambone rather than just any ol' bone! Ya know, a "bone in ham" partially eaten!

Actually, since I think the use of the word "Hambone" to designate a 4 bagger is the dumbest thing ever started in bowling. Especially giving credit to that idiot Rob Stone. Who said bowling needed a new clique word for 4 strikes in a row?

Don't we have enough problems trying to keep a tiny bit of professionalism in bowling as it is?

Sorry to use your thread to vent, but I think furthering the use of Hambone is foolish.

I think that bowling does have quite a bit of professionalism to it.  When was the last time you saw a bench clearing brawl or a guy stomping on another player's face with his spike on televised bowling?  Like any professional sport, it's going to have it's fun factor; it is a game after all.  And if you ask me, the nature of the game is very professional: you have to wear slacks and a collared shirt in sanctioned events.  Other than golf, that's the only sport I know that does it (maybe curling too, but I dunno).  I am all for the hambone, especially if it gets new people into bowling!

As for the T-shirt, it's very catchy and flamboyant.  The only thing I would try would be adding some ham to that hambone and seeing how it looks then.  Great work!

The bone on the Shirt looks more like a dog bone than a ham bone to me.  Needs a little tweaking then I will buy one just to PO anybody that hates it.  I all ready have one of the Team Hambone shirts that works geat for upsetting people.
