Ok, I finally decided to test my bowling skills in some tournaments this year so I rolled the wild turkey bourbon doubles tourney with my buddy this sunday. We made the cut and are moving on to the finals in early may. There's two days of competition, one squad each day at noon, so im assuming freshly oiled and prepped lanes. Are tourney oil patterns going to be significantly different than typical house shot, and if so how?
My arsenal is a little weak, but so far its worked well for me. Im throwing a storm hot rod polished (main ball), and a monster bruiser dulled for heavier oil and dealing with some carrydown when the storm wont finish any more. Also have a urethane blue hammer for spares and fried conditions.
Have access to a rev-master and an inferno if needed, but not sure if i need a stronger ball than the bruiser, so far its worked pretty well for me.
Im pretty nervous, first real tournament ive rolled and it kinda shocked me and my bud that we rolled as good as we did. Any suggestions on how to prepare would be appreciated.
