specs:
PAP 4 1/8" by 5/8" up
revs ~320
speed = 16.5 - 16 (spare ball ends up 17.5 down lane)
I certainly dont throw a fast ball
I have a few balls, almost all from hammer:
Blue vibe
Grind
Ebonite Evolve
Jigsaw corner
The only ball that doesnt roll out is my blue vibe and after game one I usually am fighting either to get it thru the heads or fighting how early or quickly it wants to hook. You know when you chase the ball inside in the heads but also need to catch oil down lane as well?? Well its as if there isnt enough down lane... very short oil pattern perhaps?
All bowling balls are drilled strong and I know that doesn't help.
***now here's where I started to scratch my head. I use the turbo switch grip and it never fit correctly in blue vibe (too loose) and for the second time it came out of the ball somewhere, who knows where this time!. So I reluctantly started scrambling for a ball that would somewhat fit my on the rack. I found a brunswick fury... I thought, whatever I think I remember people not liking this ball but I want to help my team win. I proceed to throw the most relaxed bowling of my life! (due to the ball clearing the heads and not ripping left when it exits the pattern) easily could have been 300 but the thumb was a tad large and span too big so I lost the ball 2 frames but everything else was strikes... big deal right? nothing amazing for a 210 avg bowler. well what blew me away was when I tugged the ball it stayed on line and held like nothing I have ever owned and when I missed right the ball smoothly just set right up toward the pocket... it was the dream ball reaction.***
Why would such a dull ball, with an equally strong drilling (4 inches to 3 1/2 from pap... blue vibe is 3 1/2, BOTH pin up), similar diff, and RG clear the heads just as well as a ball thats surfaced at 4000 plus polish???
I figure I'm looking at a coverstock difference but THAT much different? I never ever had that much area on the lanes... Please bear in mind I don't play on a house shot... its a really flat shot (don't have a clue why they use that shot???)
And if it is a coverstock difference what other balls should I look at getting?
Hammer has set the trap Hammerheads.
