Most likely the ball is in too much oil, not made for that much oil. My suggestion is to sand your ball with a green scotchbrite pad at first to bring the grit down.

Coaches.  A good investment especially if you are just starting out.  For just the basics, you can find an inexpensive coach in your area.  Check out your local bowling center and see if the youth coaches are willing to work with you.  Wont cost anything to inquire what they charge and some of them do it for free.

For more advanced coaching, there is a search option on www.bowl.com that helps you to find coaches or instructions in your area.  A search found this:

Your search for USA 30458 returned the following coaches.

 John Campbell
Bronze
12.06 Miles Portal,GA 30450  USA
Evening Phone: 912-682-xxxx
Day Phone: 912-865-xxxx

You can contact him to find out what he charges and hopefully I used the correct ZIP so he is close to your area.  Below is the link if you or someone else wants to use it to conduct a search in their area:

Edited to remove Phone Numbers and Email address for security reasons.  If you need it, do a search on the site.
