First, where are these blisters.

2d, I got blisters from the resin balls until I started having thumb slugs installed.  The shell was just too tacky and kept grabbing on my thumb.

If you have them all around the knuckle there is three possibilities.

1, you are bending your thumb in the thumb hole.

2.  Thumb hole is too tight.

3.  Pitches are wrong.

Is this ball drilled differently than your old ones?  Has to be some reason why a new ball is tearing up your thumb and the old ones don't.

And1_headach -- Check the inside of your thumb hole at the area that is causing the blister to be sure a rough spot wasn't left.  --  JohnP

And1,
You best show your hand to your ball driller. He'd be able to tell you better.
There are too many things that could be wrong even if the hole size, pitch and span is correct.
You could be bowling too much. Using a dead grip on the ball. Release. Many more.
