Particle balls--anything new on the market?
« on: January 16, 2009, 11:21:56 AM »
I'm in search of a new ball for my arsenal and want a particle to fill the void. Not being an expert on all the equipment out there, I come to this BR Board looking for some insight. All suggestions appreciated.

I prefer no company in particular. Currently have a RotoGrip, Storm, Ebonite and Visionary in the bag. Anyone have thoughts on the Visionary Orge Particle?

Ogre Particle for me is very aggressive oob, polished it up and it still handles heavier oil. The cover is very tunable but grabby oob, but it takes polish well not all of these solids do in my experience.

Well, it depends on if you're looking for a particle pearl or particle solid. Naturally, the pearl will be longer, somewhat sharper at the break, and will handle less oil. Most solid particles are only intended for heavier/longer oil patterns, as they are early and very rolly, and will be less versatile than their pearl counterparts.

My picks for the two categories are as follows.

Particle Pearl:
-Lanemasters Counter Strike
-Storm Shift

Particle Solid:
-Visionary Ogre Solid
-Lanemasters Dynamic Power

Thanks...you guys didn't let me down. I've now got a list of balls to discuss with my local pro shop guy. I truly appreciate the help!

i know this is a stretch, but if you can find a columbia u-turn particle in good shape, you won't be dissapointed, i love mine, i even got another one cheap and put a little polish on it when the lanes start to break down, works great together. mine's 14#'s drilled to go long and turn hard, like a strong hockey stick, for a 14#er, it kills the pocket yet very controllable.
