Here's a question that's puzzling the he11 out of me: How does BTM come up with the hook rating? what really has me wondering is their recent reviews of the Track mid-line balls, the Threat, Thrash, and Triple Threat. All three have a hook rating of 46. The Threat and Triple Threat share the same weight block, but even though the Triple Threat is compound, hooks earlier, and has more back end, the polished Threat has the same rating. Ditto the Thrash, which is compound but with a different weight block.
I see a lot of comments here about "my <dull high load particle> hooks less than my <polished particle or resin> ball." And according to BTM, that particle ball probably has a hook rating of 55, while the polished ball is a 48 rating. I'm trying to make some sense to this metric, otherwise is it becoming useless.
Comments please...Thanks!
