Getting moved off a set of lanes
« on: January 06, 2004, 02:52:33 AM »
Ever have this happen to you?

Started out the night struggling to find a productive line to the pocket & shot a lousy 151.  Second game & the lanes started coming to me.  Got on a real hot streak & shot 244.  Felt good about how I was throwing & the shot was there!  Then the pinsetter broke.

After about 10 minutes we were told we'd have to move to another pair.  It was just like starting the night all over again!  Thank god it didn't take quite as long to find a good line & salvaged a 196.  I really didn't want to get off that first pair!

This is the third week in a row that the set of lanes my team was bowling on has gone down somewhere over the course of the night.  Flukey bad luck but frustrating none the less.

A couple of years a team bowling next to us had the same thing happen.
One guy had the front 8 or 9 on the first pair. Since the scorers went out, they made them bowl from the start of the game. Same guy started with the front 7 or 8 on the new pair.
Found out later that the rules state that whoever can remember their score can start where they left off, so he got credit for a 300 bowled across 4 lanes.
