Couple of questions about Nationals and the 40 Framer
« on: December 21, 2009, 12:00:06 AM »
My brother has some friends that want to go to Nationals this year but my brother only averages about 180 now and book about 176.

Will he be in the 189 and below category even though the rest of us are 190 and above?

How will he have to match up in doubles? Does he need another 189 or less for doubles?

What happens if he''s on a team with bowlers all in the 190''s and above?

And for the 40 Framer: is that scratch or handicap?

Thanks in advance,

I believe the break point is 180.

If he booked under 180 and is less than then pins above it this year then he is in the classified division.

Team average under 900 in the classified. Otherwise the open division.

Doubles average under 360 in the classified. Otherwise in the open division.

Singles average under 180 in the classified. Otherwise in the open division.

So in your brothers case I believe he would be Classified division in singles and all events. But probably in the open division for team and doubles and singles.

I don''t know about the 40 framer.

For Team and most likely Doubles, he would be in the Open division.  Singles and AE he would be in classified.

40 Frame game is 80% of 225 (according to the entry form)

Minor correction - Doubles is 360 instead of 260 (180 x 2)
