Stat of the Day, my proshop guy returned 785 warrantied bowling balls, just last season. No ball company spared in that number, that is insane if you ask me...
-
And just how often does he sharpen his commonly used bits?
-
frequently. these are not balls cracked while drilling. these are cracked after use.

It's not that a dull bit causes it to crack on the press... the heat created from the friction from a dull bit or improper speed can later cause issues.
Ample bevel on holes used for inserts, etc?
I'm curious, because the shop I go to locally is a high volume shop (60 lane center with a fair portion of the business coming from outside of town) and I don't think his returns are even half that.

he's good. he pulls business from an hour + away. I understand the reason for the questions, but he's the kinda guy that knows what he needs to know. I know there was a bad batch of IQ Tour Pearls that he was getting, nearly all of those cracked, and not all the returns were originally from his shop.

there are 6 bowling centers in town, and 4 of them are 32+ lanes each.

How many balls did this shop sell? Is this a $2 million a year shop?
More than 2 balls a day warrantied? Uh, no.
