Craziest Bowling Stories
« on: March 28, 2011, 06:11:07 PM »
This thread is just what the title says xD. I want everyone to post their best/craziest/favorite bowling story.

I'll start:

Just last weekend in a tournament, this guy has the front 11. Every single shot was dead flush, ten back, perfect. The guy had at least 500 rpm's and was throwing it really fast. Then on his last shot, he somehow stoned a 4-5. He went a little light and neither pin wiggled, just a solid 4-5. One of the craziest things I've ever seen.

Watched an adult leave the 7,8,9,10 and on the next first ball leave the 2,3,4,6,7,8,9,10!   One night Hart bowl in Dallas had its color pin sweeper.  The sweeper was run in 2 shifts and at the end of the night 2 people were drawn to shoot a the rack minus the head pin for a $1000.  A lady from the first shift went into the bar for the duration of the second shift and got severely drunk.  No one had ever made the shoot before and she threw the ball  struck and fell flat on the approach.

The best I can do is a guy is bowling league many years ago in Eau Claire WI, he throws the ball down the lane, drills the pocket and his ball then reverses course and starts rolling back up the lane towards him.

I watched a buddy shooting at the 10 on the left lane of the pair put it in the gutter just right so it popped out to the right went up the outside of the ball return drop and out the back of the machines then out the back door. It was found on the opposite side of the street with a crack all the way around it.

A couple of years ago in my Thursday night league I was shooting at the 6 - 10 spare, I just missed the 6 pin and the 10 pin proceeds to bounce across to the left sidewall and roll back across the pin deck and take out the 6 pin.  That was the epitome of missing a spare so bad that you actually make it.

I left the big 4(4-6-7-10) one evening years ago.  For the second shot I aimed at the pins on the right, hit the 10 and it bounced over and picked off the 7 leaving the 4-6. . .

I picked the 4-10 off the big 4 in Reno.  Shot at the 6-10, missed a little wide only hitting the 10 which bounced off the back and side walls missing the 7 but hitting the 4.

This doesn't really count since it was (10 pin) practice, but I took the 2-8-10 out of a full rack.  Picked the 10 off clean.  It must have bounced off the back hitting the 8 which fell straight forward hitting only the 2.

Last night I bowled next to a team that had 2 guys bowl 300 in the same game.  The leadoff guy had the front 7 and left a 8 pin in the 8th  to shoot 279 or it would have been 3.  These are the first 2 -300's this year in the house.  Kinda crazy.

We have a player that throws about 25 mph (Qubica) at 10 pins.  One night earlier this season he hit one flush.  It flew out of the back and slid all the way down the lane onto the approach.  He picked it up and took it to the desk.  --  JohnP

This just happened last night.  I was trying so hard to not laugh.

Guy we are bowling has 110 in the 9th.  Really struggling to say the least.  Goes up in the 10th and stones an 8 pin.  He's not very happy to begin with but then the machine sweeps it so he has to wait for a respot.  The respot the 9 instead of the 8 but he's not paying attention and shoots it anyways and the ball goes right where the 8 pin would have been.  He's getting more pissed off as he has to wait for another respot of the 8 pin.  The finally respot the 8 pin and he then...he fouls.

Really??  He must have some bad voodoo working against him.

not all that uncommon, but I made the 7-10 with the ball once... shot the 7, drilled it back but the ball bounced out and rolled over into the 10

I can go on and on in this topic but I will post my own personal craziest that I can think of right now, when I was bowling college for Wright State....we had practice at beaver vu bowl and our coach was making us shoot the ten pin off a full rack on the first shot and the seven pin on the second shot, well after about three frames, I go up to shoot the ten pin on the first ball, and pick it clean and some how it bounces off the back, and the 10 pin takes only the 7 pin out...

So I took the 7-10 only off of a full rack....it was crazy, I told my coach that was good enough and I was done for the night lol

Guy on my team starts with a 9 / finish the game out with 11 strikes.  Goes 11 in a row to start the second game and finishes with a 9.  All those strikes and no 300....
