I have a question for you people.  I bowl in a handicap fun league on Thursday nights.  Most of the people there have low averages, bowl 3 games a week and socialize; typical handicap league (26 teams).  Well a friend of mine asked me to bowl with them, they were one person short.  I typically bowl in scratch or more competitive leagues.  But I figured hey, it's only $12 a week, it gets me more practice, I get another chance at break the bank (strike in certain frames for jackpot), and I'll get something back at the end of league.  Well our team is absolutely crushing everyone else.  I'm averaging 230, my team mate is at 215 and during double point money weeks (position rounds) we haven't lost, and we've won 80% of our games for the season.  So I pose this.  Do you think it's fair to be bowling this?  I know I shouldn't feel bad for shooting high but it almost feels like taking candy from a baby.  Even though most everyone is nice in the league I feel like behind my back they say, why is he bowling this league, or I'm not coming back next season.  Do you think other teams feel as though they can't compete?

Handicap is 80% of 200.

It's divided into thirds (36 week league) with 4 divisions.  The winner of each third get's into the rolloff plus one wildcard team.  There's a position round the 10th week.  Then there's a big bracket that all the teams are placed into.  Division A bowls against B, division C against division D.  Of course the top seeds from each division bowl against each other, and the rest follow sequentially in the bracket.  Well the winner of the match against A and B will bowl the winner of division C and D to determine who wins the third.  If a team wins multiple thirds the team that finishes 2nd gets into the rolloff (I believe, not certain).  It's based off a 7 point per night system.  2 for each game and 1 for total.  weeks 11 and 12 are double point money nights.  We won the first third and next week is the last week of the 2nd third and we bowl the winner of division A and B.  The overall wins are also noted in the standings sheet and we're roughly 35-40 points ahead of the team with the second most wins.  It pays based on point money, where you finish for the third and then the rolloff pays extra.

I just bowl, no work on my part.  The officers set it up and I'm sure it's been this way for some time.  Payouts not that great I'm sure, don't recall the sheet, I just know it's based off what I said earlier.
