Ball of the year?

has anyone heard about what ball will win this award? i hear the taboo, victory road, and gravity nano are the three top candidates. but that is only through the grape vine.

My vote would go for the Ebonite Cyclone, great combination of performance and affordability.  --  JohnP

I recall that Ball very well. I let myself foolishly get caught up in all of the hype about it, bought a Dynamo, and it ended being one of the worse balls I have had. I couldn't get it to work well for me no matter what surface I put on it.

Sorry Brick. I shot a 300 in my PBA Experience League with the Dynamo. In my 2011 Summer Scratch League, primarily using the Dynamo, I ended up with a 237 average, which was high among all bowlers. I'm sure there were several other balls I could have had success with, but the bottom line is I did it with the Dynamo. There are other Lane#1 balls that have been less than stellar, but the Dynamo lived up to the hype.

v>lane 1??? where did you here that from. i cant even remember the last time that they won anything just saying. they need to get away for that core that they have.

oh yea i forgot about the dynamo. i had it and wasnt too impressed with it but then again i was still using the nv and black widow. lane 1 doesnt stand a chance this year. they need a new core. same with hammer. the gas mask core is great but i really dont like it that much. but that is just me. they need to step their game up in my opinion just like ebonite did last year with the mission. BUT THAT IS JUST ME SPEAKING

LOL... I posted this from my I-Pad, and I couldn't get it to print the 'number 1' properly. Oh Well...

There isn't enough time or space to bring you up to speed on the economics of PBA bowling and why they haven't "won anything". You have to evaluate equipment based on your own experience and knowledge. There is no substitute. That's why I bowl with a mix that also includes Motiv, Columbia, Ebonite and Hammer.

There is nothing wrong with the diamond core. But I do agree they've sometimes gone over the edge a bit with these hybrids they've come up with lately.

Steven, I'm happy that it "lived up to it's hype" for you, but it didn't for many others. In my area, I saw more people that didn't like it , than did like it.

900 global eagle. That ball has been almost unheard of around me. i know of one bowler in the three leagues that i bowl in (each 5 man team and have over 20 teams). If it wasnt for the fact that the victory road is a lower end ball i would say it would win. it has had the "most success" but ball of the year is also based on sale and the taboo and nano have sold the most for me
