Title: Customized bowling shoes!!??? who has done it???
Post by: Kinalyx on June 13, 2008, 01:56:26 PM
Im considering buying some all white bowling shoes & dying them custom colors & whatnot.  Seeing as how im completely tired of every mens shoe worth having being black & grey/silver, i want something custom.

Has anyone done this?  What did it cost to have them dyed?  Also how long did the dye last, any scuffing problems?

Im really considering doing this, but the only decent all white bowling shoes are dexter SST5's, which are already $105ish, plus the price of the dye.

NEED INFO

I know a guy who glued velcro to a pair of sneakers (maybe Jordan's) so that he can add a slide sole and heel. I thought that was pretty cool, but the velcro wasn't as strong as he needed and there was a few times his heel came off and he had a bad fall.

I once Frankensteined an old pair of house shoes and a dingy pair of work boots into some yeomanly bowling footwear. I carefully ripped the soles off of both the house shoes and the boots and glued the bottoms of the house shoes onto the bottoms of the boots. After a little trim jobbie, I took them to the lanes.

Needless to say, they were extremely uncomfortable, but they were entertaining. I still may have them kicking around someplace, I'll have to look.

Hahaha, how did he manage to get away with that?
