Thumb Callus Treatment
«

We have a young person who has developed an open callus on the thumb...painful and messy. While we are working on fixing the root cause in the ball fit and delivery, we need some mitigation steps to heal/protect the thumb before six games of competition on Monday. Ideas? Thanx in advance!
Already enforcing rest until Monday. Also planned on the New Skin with cotton strands mixed in. It's not a violent delivery so I don't think it's a hopeless situation.

I have a name, therefore no preferred pronouns.

Cut a piece of panty hose and use the New Skin to "glue" it in place. Works just like the new skin patches, but you can have any size you want instead of the little circle.

As a temporary fix, I would go with the new skin with the patch and also some protective thumb tape.
As far as the fit/pitch being the cause, it seems to be the likely culprit but is the bowler possibly bending the thumb slightly in the ball to hang on to it causing some drag on the knuckle (assuming the callus is on the back of the thumb)?

good ideas, All! Thanx!
callus is on side of thumb between knuckles (index finger side)
refitting is in the works (span, pitch, etc.) to ensure that squeezing is not going to happen but won't be ready in time
