Heavy Oil, Big Hook, Big Backend
« on: February 09, 2009, 06:54:37 AM »
Here is what I got for heavier oil
Brunswick BVP Mammoth - Rico'd - 400 grit
Hammer Anger - 4in pin to PAP. CG on axis with weight hole- 2000 abralon

I need something in between the Anger and Mammoth. Something for heavier oil with a big backend as both of these balls tend to Be smoother and more archy..

Thinking of the Uprising, Rising SE, maybe a No Mercy or No Mercy Beat'n with the right layout.
Anyone have any other suggestions?

My Hammer Sauce is very smooth and continuous on heavier oil. I took mine to 2000 abralon also.

Just hold out for a month and grab the new Rogue Cell. Stronger than the original with 5% more backend friction then than the Cell Pearl. Sounds like the ticket for you. Just put a longer drilling on it and it will fit right in.

Looking at the responses, maybe I don't need anything.

I think I am realizing I do better with symetric simpler cores.  None of my strong mass bias balls that I have had worked that well for me.  Only big assymetric I have is the Widow Pearl.
I'll post my arsenal in another post and see what people think and if there are any gaps.

Hunh???/

All the choices you optioned: Uprising, Rising SE, maybe a No Mercy or No Mercy Beat'n are all asymmetric, Mass bias balls?
So I recommended a couple of mass bias balls and one symmeric.

Now you say you do better with symmetric cores?
Make up our minds already.

Yes .. I agree.. I don't know what I want.. or will work.. My flop with the Cell and the Immortal Solid have me a little scared now.

Dimension or maybe even a Frankie May Gryphon at like 2000 would be good

I think the Sauce is a little too short for me.  I was thinking of the Hot Sauce Pearl.  Not sure how it handles heavy oil versus the Sauce

Hot Sauce Pearl is huge mistake it skates in any type of heavy medium's, Sauce would be a much wiser choice.

Thanks Bowlingnut about the hot sauce... my problem is alot of people tell me certain balls hook a ton and are for heavy oil.  I find most of them only hook a ton if you find the dry wall or super dry backend.  I don't like playing the bounce off the wall.  I like to stay in the oil.  I can make any ball that I have come back from a wall shot.
