Title: Demo Day review
Post by: Luvswatch on September 14, 2014, 06:34:31 PM
4 balls tested were 14lb. on house shot (40 ft. top hat) and sport shot (42 ft. flat).

Columbia N'Sane Antics
Ebonite Honor
Hammer Widow Legend
Track Mx16

For me, the only one that would work for our THS was the N'Sane Antics. Probably played about 2 boards stronger for me than my Ebonite Cyclone...about 15 to 6 was the shot. Was ok, not amazed.

On the Sport shot (all of these balls were down/in for me), the N'Sane Antics played about up 10 and made a nice move to the pocket. The Track Mx16 was playing up 8 board, the Hammer Widow Legend was about the 5 board. Now the Ebonite Honor was 6 out to 4 and was my favorite for this shot. The widow was stronger off the dry by a bit, but I seemed to have a little more area/hold with the Honor.

Unless I get back into tournament bowling,  3 of the 4 balls are not for our THS for the 2 houses in our area for normal leagues. My understanding on our house shot, probably 18-20 units of oil in the middle (hope this helps)...will try to learn more about it.

Were you at a McCorvey's demo? I may do the same soon.

I was able to Demo the N's@ne Antics and Legend while a couple of the McCorvey's shops here were prepping the demo balls.  I also preferred the Columbia 300 ball.  I am eager to test the Honor and MX16 alongside the other two when they come through here.

Can you post a photo of the coupon sheet you got?  I'm curious what deals I can look forward to.  Did they also have some demo day special pricing?

NO GB2 available?
that is a great ball, as well as the Eruption Pro Hybrid
i have the BW legend, GB2 and EP Hybrid
I have had a great look with the GB2 on our medium sport and THS that i haven't really fully dialed in the cover to my liking on the BW legend yet.
I scuffed up the EP Hybrid and used on the sport pattern when they broke down, great controllable piece

They could be added to the demo day.  I was surprised they had just four balls at his demo.  The one I did with McCorvey's last January had six balls to test. So I don't know if they add a couple more as new releases become available through Christmas.

Cliff Barnes proshop did a demo days a while back and had Jason Couch here
was pretty neat tipping a few and listening to old tour stories
Seems like CB has some of the lowest prices around - demo days had 6 or 8 to try from what i remember.
i think those shops have to buy all of those pieces that become demo days balls
not sure though
i know i don't see a lot of them anymore

I saw a FB post where they gave the Hammer Bad Ass at their demo today.
