Denied Access to Bowling Ball Exchange
« on: January 16, 2010, 04:09:10 AM »
I get this error when trying to access the Bowling Ball Exchange site.  Do any of you computer wizards know what this means and what I need to do to fix it?  Please explain in simple terms.  I'm somewhat computer illiterate!!

Thanks.

You have been denied access to this forum. The reason is that you are visiting us from a place that has been blacklisted as an Open Proxy. You have to fix this, and return.

There's a rumor that Mo disagreed with or bad mouthed Ritchie from Lane #1. Anyone know what's going on over there? The mod's ain't talking.

Or it could be because of this.

Also another user on BBE said he spoke to Mo today and in fact was banned because of "he got banned for violated the "Terms of Service" concerning personal attacks in his posts"

I guess urbanj51 didn't like the way Mo answered him.

As nothing has been formally disseminated to the public, there is rampant speculation that there may be a personal feud going on ...
But, until RevZ or the other Admin, Steve, let us in on the whole story, all we are doing is spreading vicious, unsubstantiated rumors.
Sadly, even PurduePaul has become involved.
While I''m curious to see how this all turns out, I''m also a little disgusted with people making possibly inaccurate and damaging assumptions, and then picking sides based on those assumptions.

Did anyone read my question?  All I asked was if anyone knew what the error meant and how to fix it.  Not about some so-called fued between Pinel and Sposato.

Sadly, my involvement has been due to my trying to share my knowledge on BBE that I collaborated with Mo Pinel on.  He has been banned from BBE due to basically disagreeing with Richie Sposato from Lane #1.  Still lurking here from time to time and also moderating a tech forum on bowlingchat.net's forum.  Message me anytime.

I suspect you're lucky you weren't banned for associating with Mo ...

I get the error sometimes when I go in through AOL - I go through Internet Explorer and it works fine - there is a spot where you can let them know and they can fix it for you if you can't get in any other way.

For what ever reason, for the past 2-3 months BBE doesn't function well with aol, but Explorer works great. Even on this BR site aol is sometimes slow and drags for me, so I have been using explorer on this site most of the time also.
