Solid,
Any of the hotels listed on Bowl.com web site will be fine.
Our biggest problem in the area is no mass transportation to speak of so I will suggest three destinations that will have a variety of Restaurants.
1)Downtown Detroit-Greektown Casino. Not only does the Casino have fine dining(and a great hotel)it is located in the heart of Greektown. You will find a wide variety of quality restaurants within walking distance from local Greek to Cajun all with quality menus.A short distance away is Harmonie Park that caters to an artsy crowd or Corktown which was the hippie enclave in the 60s and still caters to a mixed variety of partiers. Also very near is the RenCen which has an outstanding restaurant at the top that offers the best view of Detroit and Windsor you could want.If you want to sight see take in the just completed river walk promanade that follows the river behind the RenCen. These are all located along the people mover which is an inexpensive Tram you can board from a number of stations around the inner city.
2)Northville-This is a very friendly upscale community located very near the Bowling site. This is Midwest small town at it's finest
www.ci.northville.mi.us.
I suggest after a a walk through the Downtown area you enjoy a fine meal at Ginitti's Hole-in-the-wall.You will not be disappointed.
3)Royal Oak-This suburban city has a main street of restaurants, shops and bars that will satisfy anyone's taste.Fine restaurants and party bars are side by side and located within a six block radius. One of my favorites is Good Night Gracies,an excellent martini bar located near the train station. For BBQ and blues I recommend Memphis Smoke which has a great roof deck if the whether is nice. This city is a hang out for skin heads to fashion freaks and everything in between so people watching is a major attraction.
There are many more great places around the bowling centers you will be participating at.These are just three of my favorites I thought I would share.
