Dexter Shoes
« on: June 16, 2010, 01:34:23 AM »
I have had Dexter LX SST 6's for almost 3 years and the inside is starting to fall apart. The inside near the heal is coming unsown and giving my heel a blister.  I am thinking of getting the SST8's, anyone have any feedback or hear that NEW Dexters will be released in the Fall?

Dexters that fall apart? Shocking. Last pair of SST6's I had fell apart in 4 months due to the poor design of the rubber on my balance shoe. Horrible.
3G is a far better product.

ive had dexters my whole life only about 10years but my current ones are SST6 from 2000-2003ish. have worn them 3 full years and just keep replacing the heels and soles. no problems with falling apart. SST8s are great from what ive heard

I've had my SST8's for almost a year now. I average 15-20 games a week between practice/league/tournaments. The shoes show very little visible wear. I see no reason for them not to last for at least another 2-3 years. All shoes wear out on the insides over time. It's a cheap fix at the local shoe repair shop.

The SST8's are terrific shoes -- comfortable and probably the most supportive shoes on the market. However, if you want to bowl in the equivalent of slippers, go for the 3G's. It just depends on what you're looking for.

I've had my SST 7's for over two years and they are holding up just fine. I bowl three leagues in summer, four in winter and a lot of tournaments. From my experience, Dexters are well made.

I have had many issues with Dexters in the past but I have to agree with milorafferty. I have had a pair of SST7's for almost 3 years now and I have not had a single issue.  I have heard nothing but bad things about SST8's and actually know 2 people that got blisters on their big toe from using SST8's.  The SST7's are the best pair of Dexters I have owned, I have had every number model up through the 7's.  I have not, and will not, try the SST8's. I would recommend the SST7's but none of the rest.
