Once the pin is put in the ball can it be moved?

Well the Pin marks the top of the core so no it can't because once a ball is poured the core can't be moved either.  Is that what your asking?

the core is on the end of the pin, the pin is used to dip the core into the mold as the ball is poured. it is integral to the core, think of it like a lollipop.
