when you were bowling so bad, you were actually embarrassed?  happenned to me this week.  I bowled in our city tourny, did great in single and doubles, had a real good chance to do some damage in all events and we get to the team event and....nothing....no shot, just second squad carrydown, couldn't get any of my balls to react, threw almost no strikes, started missing easy spares, next thing you know my timing is all messed up and now I fouled on one of the few strikes I threw, couldn't find he pocket....really....I ws embarrased.  I shot 505.. and was truly ashammed.   I expect more from myself.  I have been bowling for too long, too many years, I looked like I had no clue, no experience and no bowling knowledge.   anyone else?

I just had that happen to me. Also at a tournament. I found a great shot and half way through the first game there was buckets of oil on the backend. Someone was throwing plastic pushing oil down the lane right at the breakpoint. I did terrible, but I still took second (handicap of course helped)

mumzie I've done that to. The first one gets in your head and you do it again and your sitting there at the line going "....what?"
