OK this is just a interesting thing I found out a few weeks ago.
There are only 39 full boards and 1 half board.
Depending on what kind of lanes you are on you will find that 1/2 board either in the middle. or you will find it on the left side between the 3-7 board.

I think the dots are set exactly where they are supposed to be. So you should be able to tell by those, and not count boards.
