diff shot each lane?
« on: August 20, 2004, 03:56:14 PM »
I bowl at a bowling center where the left lane of the pair always is drier than the right side. Not on just one pair but the entire house, does anyone know what causes this? The lanes are about a year and a half old synthetics. AMF.

first thing that comes to mind......guy running the machine doesnt have a clue....or he is running 2 differnet shots on purpose...other than that I dunno.

I've seen it - my "home" house is that way.
The only thing I can think of is that the boards are slightly marked different on one side than the other - either on the approach or on the lanes.

Could be some dumdass counter person allotting single lanes instead of pairs.

We had a problem similar to this at one of the houses.  Each lane was progressively slicker.  Found out the guy running the machine wasn't letting it set flat long enough for the wicks to load up with oil.

Now they fill the machine at the end of the night and put it on the starting lane to be oiled.

In the old case, it took about 6 lanes for the oiler to put out the same volume from lane to lane.
