Charlotte, NC-Bowling Alley Closing !!

For those in the Charlotte, NC area:
 We were told tonight that AMF Coliseum Lanes will be closing at the end of the Bowling season. They will move all the leagues to another bowling center next season. Maybe to AMF University Lanes on N. Tryon St. I won't miss Coliseum Lanes, I never really found my shot there in 2 years.

SORRY to hear this!!!

I have been waiting for this news for some time. Several reasons why I thought that this would happen...

I think the shot there is kinda easy, maybe it is just me???

If you would like, send me some info about your league (when ya bowl). I will try to come by one nite.

I coach the 9-11 year olds on Saturday mornings.
But, do not bowl in a league there this year, could not make it fit into my work schedule...............

Oh well, George Pappas is opening a "NEW" bowling alley up your way.
I am sure you about this already!!!

I bowl on Thursday's this year, but bowled on Wednesday last season. Is this Jeff Schafer from last season in the Scratch Classic?

I have practiced several times at Coliseum over the years when visiting my parents.  Hate to hear it's not going to be there any longer.  Where is Pappas opening his center?  --  JohnP

He's opening a center in Mooresville, NC in late March/early April.

Thanks.  If I get a chance when I'm home this summer, I'll drive over and visit his center.  George was just reaching elite status in Charlotte in the early '60s when I was in AJBC leagues in Salisbury.  --  JohnP
