Difficult House
« on: March 05, 2005, 03:39:32 AM »
I have come to the conclusion that the one house I always go to is the most difficult one for me to score consistently in league play and/or practice.

There are 4 houses that I frequest weekly:

Hickam AFB Lanes
Pearl Harbor Sub Base
Leeward Bowl
Aiea Bowl

The only thing I can think of is that Hickam has synthetic lanes and the other houses are wood, (I believe).

Anywhere but Hickam I am holding a 200+ average in both league and just general practice.  At Hickam my average has dipped to 160.

Can anyone offer a bit of inisight?  Perhaps it's more mental on my part than physical?

At the navel base near me the shot is harder there too.  I haven't been able to go bowl there in a while because they didn't want extra civilians on the base

You guys, he said the one he's having trouble with is the synthetic one, the wood ones are where he's doing better.

I'm guessing that the synthetic house just puts down a condition that is either tougher, or just completely different.

Being that it's second shift that I bowl on the synthetic, I am a victim of the bowlers before me.  The straight bowlers push the oil to the outside and down the lane, the strokers burn up the line I USUALLY pay pretty quick.  From week to week the lanes are different; either they are flooded or bone dry.  I know a good bowler must adjust to varying lane conditions but this is the ONLY house I am having trouble with.

Maybe I will do better in the tourney tomorrow.

A little intresting thing i found the other day while taking footage.

Take a camera, get there kinda early.

Lane level zoomed view will show you the track area that has been most played. sure you can call it cheating but eh.
