Best lanes and pro shop in southern ILL ???
« on: May 11, 2005, 02:31:41 AM »
I'm getting ready to move to O'Fallon, Illinois in July (just east of St Louis and close to Scott AFB) ... was looking for inputs from BR "roomies" that know the area, the lanes and a GOOD pro shop. Thanx in advance ...

I've been to St. Clair bowl and dealt with Mike Mineman in the past.  Very nice place and a good person to deal with.  The center if I remember is an old converted skating rink so it has an odd feel about it.  When I was there it was well maintained and had a lot of different food on the menu.  The food was very good.  If I remember synthetic lanes and synthetic approaches.  Some people had problems with the approaches but I found them ok.  They have a good youth program from what I understand and probably anything center related in general I would contact Mike Imes.  They also have a website.

St.Clair bowl is a fantastic place to go and the pro-shop is 2nd to none. Mike Mineman is very knowledgable on the game of bowling he does a great job of drilling, plus look at how many PTQ's he qualified for this year in the PBA. He has got some game. But foremost MIke is a great individual always ready to lend a helping hand to other bowlers.

To not_enough_carry203 you said Mike was on Brunswick staff???? He has been on track forever. did he just switch????

--Totally agree about Mineman...he is not the cheapest in the world, but that shop will get the job done right. ------------------
