dirt residue on ball
« on: June 21, 2006, 03:45:46 AM »
I've noticed that I accumulate a thin , skinlike dirt on my ball as my league continues. I can't wipe this stuff off during play cause it seems to be glued on rather well to the ball surface. Fingernails or toothpicks work well, but need more time between shots to remove it all. Its only above my fingers, and on my track.

Noone else seems to have this on their ball. I figured it was belt marks from the ball return, but that theories shot. Could this be caused by dirt on the lanes, a bit of speed, and revolutions causing alot of friction on the dry and burning dirt to my ball ?

It's more like urothane from the back carpet. It does come of but unfortunately Acetone works best! If you use plain ball cleaner you'll have to scrub forever.

I get that from time to time on my equipment. All it is, is the carpet from the back of the pit to stop the ball from hitting the pin wheel in the back of the machine. I feel it does not harm the overall reaction of the ball, if it does, maybe 1-2 boards max.
