Arsenal. What would u guys suggest.
« on: June 17, 2006, 04:54:59 AM »
I have
The One. Has the pin below the ring finger and cg kicked out 1/2 inch. Weight hole.

Ramapage. Simlar to the one, but is dull and has the pin pushed out to the right a little more with a shorter pin placement. Weight hole.

Ice. Pin above ring finger cg under ring finger (bout 1 1/2 inch pin). No weight hole

RSX. Pin just to the above and right of the ring finger with cg under the middle finger. Has alot of finger weight (cg is bout an inch or less under the middle finger).

Mercury. Pin aboce bridge and cg kicked out bout 1 1/2. Weight hole

Desert heat. Pin below middle finger and cg under ring finger. No weight hole.

Not really pitcular to one company so just let me know what ball u think I should get to fill a gap and possibly a drill recomendation. Not sure on my pap but I can dig it up.

you might want to add a ball above the one, possible the Infinte One or Big One to cover the top of your arsenal, IMO the lighter of your arsenal is covered a little to far with the Mercury and Ice and Desert Heat, i would only keep two of the above, but you may want to get a ball below the One and above it maybe it could look like this

Heavy- Infinate/Big One
Medium Heavy- The One
Medium- RXS
Medium Light- Mercury/Ice
Light- Desert Heat
Maybe throw a plastic in here and you might want to add another ball to the medium-heavy range with a different style of a reaction to help you out on patterns you encounter and nothing works

I agree with the above. I think you need a plastic ball for spares....Columbia's Blue Dot is great for that....and a heavy oil ball just in case. For that you have many choices, all of them good so it's up to you. Among your choices would be...Track's Robo Rule or GP2...possibly the Rule Delta 1, or wait a little while and get a Mean Machine, The Big One or Infinite One by Ebonite, Hammer's Hawg, Roto Grip's Epic Battle, Visionary's AMD Solid, Storm's Passion, the Action by Columbia, in short you have lots of choices. I've used the Robo Rule, GP2, Big One, Epic Battle, and I've seen what the AMD Solid can do. I can recommend any of those from personal experience. You wouldn't be disappointed with any of them. And I'm sure other people will recommend other choices as well. As I said at the beginning...you have many good choices from several different companies and you won't regret buying from any of them as they all produce quality products.

I have a plastic ball, I always go straight at all spares.

Trust me bout the ice and mercury do not lap. The ice snaps tons harder the mercury.

Trust me hooking a ball on oil is not the deal. I can hook the ball wit the best of them.

No company preferecne (just as long as there round). Just curous what u all think.
320 RPM's avg.
Tweener mainly. Can get cranker going, or stroker (not so much a full roller).

Zack -- Why do you think you need another ball?  If the money is burning a hole in your pocket, why not invest it in additional practice, coaching lessons, or a tournament you wouldn't have entered otherwise?  --  JohnP

Man trust me its not burning a hole in my pocket. I can afford it. I do get into queit a few tournaments. I still get coaching lessions.

I good bowler once told me you must replace your balls when they are dead or u can not compete. it gives u a little extra edge. Yes I know you must repeat shots.

I looked at your profile and relize the era of bowling u grew up in but that era is dead

The main reason I am getting a new ball is cause I got money coming back from springfield. Just extra money for me. Got to spoil ur self every once in a while.

Zack -- Sorry, your original post didn't say that any of your balls were losing their reaction.  I assumed they were all OK.  By "burning a hole in your pocket", I meant money that you have and just can't stand not to spend, which seems to be the case.  Your profile doesn't say what weight ball you use.  If you can handle 16 lbs, Buddies has a couple of RotoGrip Silver Streak Pearls at a good price.  That's a great skid/flip ball and might fill a spot for you.  I've been thinking about getting one of them myself.  --  JohnP

Na I throw 15lbs. None of them lost their reaction. I got rid of a couple that did. This was more of a curous factor of what everyone else thinks.
