So I did a deal for a guy giving him some of my PBA videos and all he had was instructional videos. I said ok and got Walter's video plus Tips from the Masters 1 and 2 that had Mike Aulby and Mark Roth.
I watched the Walter Ray video and was near instantly bored. It did keep my interest knowing that it was filmed in Dallas at Don Carter's but that was about it. I think Walter is a great "natural" born talent but being a techical bowler he is not it, even if he is the best bowler of all time.
It's been a long long time since the 80's it's seemed since we've had a instructional video that was more modern since urethane when instructional videos were huge ( probaly cause in the 80's pro's and coaches figured out the main secrets of bowling ) a video would come out in the 00's.
I guess the video was good for beginners but not since Marshall Holman's video from 87 there has been a good technical video. I hope my watching of the Aulby/Roth video will be better from the 80's.
When I think of good modern bowlers now adays, I would much rather see a good technical bowler that knows the modern game the best and has the crudentials such as Norm Duke or Brian Voss. Great instructors such as Richard Shockley, Bill Hall also could make such a video.
Also the video was not very long...I was like "that's it?" at the end. Boring and disappointing and didn't learn much from it!
