Discount cards for league bowlers.
« on: March 02, 2004, 01:02:01 AM »
Just wonderd people think of this,
Debbie (my fiancee)and myself run the leagues in our local centre and we
wanted to do something for the league bowlers who support the centre every
week.During a meeting with the management we proposed a Discount card
for our league bowlers, giving them money off on puchases in the bowl.
They agreed this was a good idea and so now all our league bowlers have
these cards,it gives them 10% discount on all diner purchases (except
chocolate)and reduced prices in the bar (up to 40% on selected beers
and spirits)they are free to use these cards at any time not just
on league nights. The only proviso is that they must produce the cards
on purchase and they must not let other people use them.
Anyone else have something similar?

Sounds very good to me. I wish I lived where ever it is that you live so I could take advantage of this benefit. Where I live, all they give you is the "time of day."

Our one center gives out 2 cards for each league bowled in. One is a birthday card, good for a free drink. The 2nd is for year long use, 10% off pro-shop, one free open game every 2 weeks, discounted prices on open play other times, and discounts on food specials. Also at the holidays, they also come around with a cart and offer a free beverage (draft, pop or whiskey sour).

At my center, there are leagues for both juniors and adults bowlers, that give out a practice card. With it, you get 3 free games a day, good for the entire league time. It really is worth it if you practice. Like me.

My center doesn't have a card, but league bowlers can open bowl for a buck a game and, with the summer sport league, each bowler gets 5 free games of open bowling a week!!

Our centre gave us a card. It allows us to bowl for £1.50 (about $2.70) a game Monday-Friday before 5 pm. Regular price is about £3.50-£4.00 I think ($6.40-$7.30). No discounts for the Bar or Diner though. And our centre doesnt have a pro shop either. (Leicester btw).

Our house, an AMF house, gives out a league member card.  It allows us to practice anytime except Friday or Saturdays after 6pm for $2.50/game.  We also get a 10% discount at the snack bar (alcohol excluded).  I also think it gives us a 50% discount from MSRP on AMF equipment.  When MSRP is about $250/ball, its not that great of a discount.  I think this card is a AMF Corp benefit because I have used this card at other AMF houses about 120 miles away.
