Dishwasher method question?
« on: February 27, 2009, 02:51:53 AM »
Just asking the people that use this method a bunch. Do you just put it on normal wash without the soap and turn off the dry cycle. Is there anything else that I should do.

Have used the hot water bucket a coule times with good success, just wanting to try something new. My Code has about 60 games on it, and although it hasn't lost any reaction that I can notice, i feel it is time to get whatever is in it out.

ya thats what I thought.

it seems it would work better than the hot water bucket method, being it is a constant hot temperature for a longer period of time, similar to a rejuvenator. I was thinking doing the hot water bucket a couple times before doing the dishwater method. But all that up and down temperatures could be bad for the ball, i do not want to jeperdize my Code, I love that ball.

The reason I think the dishwasher and revivor work a little better than the bucket is they both rid of the oil after if comes to the surface. In the dishwasher it gets washed away and down the drain. In the revivor it acvtually wipes the oil off. In the bucket the oil just sits in there with the ball the whole time.

What if you leave the hot water running continuously into the bucket? Wouldn't that take care of that issue?

That is what I do. Put it in the bath tub and let it run slowly.

Do put the soap in there, that's what dish soap is made to do break up oil.

I actually put mine on the pots and pans setting, seems to steam in there a while or something.

DO turn off the dry cycle.

Bowl great!

Do you tape over the finger/thumb holes, or just let the ball be?

I used to preach the bucket method until I threw a ball in the dishwasher. It's incredibly good. I used a little soap tablet though. Probably not necessary, but figured it couldn't hurt.
