Bucket why on earth would you think a dishwasher is a good method? People use the dishwasher as an I am more clever than you thing.

Remember when they told us that water and oil dont mix?  Well putting a ball in the dishwasher could very well leave oil residue all over the inside of your dishwasher not to mention the oil getting into the drain.  The thing about the bucket method, is that the water has to be hot for it to be effective and even if you use hot water, it is cold within 15 minutes.  So you would have to dump the water out, and refill the bucket every 10 minutes until you no longer see oil at the top of the water.  The lesser of two evils without a doubt is the bucket method if you are willing to put in the work of filling and refilling the bucket until you no longer see oil.
