« on: April 06, 2009, 09:39:29 PM »
It has been put back in place but still tender.  Only been 1 week.  My question is there any sort of protection i can where or has any one been through this?

You didn't get a finger brace?

You could just try wrapping it in athletic tape, so it can't move around much.

I had a splint that I took off yesterday that the ER gave me.

Try wrapping it well with athletic or medical tape.  Throw a few shots and see how it feels...then make your decision.

I agree with Danes. It's really all in your perception of how bad the pain is, or could be, and if you wish to risk further injury. Wrap it, and see what happens. Then decide from there.

Try tucking the pinky (if you can) and taking it out of the release. You will get more side roll, but it should take most of the pressure off of that digit when lifting through on the shot.

Or try taping it to your ring finger to keep it stable.  --  JohnP

This happened to me recently. Go to a Walgreens or a cvs type store and find a small/medium sized finger splint. Tape your pinky finger to  the splint and then tape your ring and pinky finger together, but not to tight. Make sure you can bend your ring finger(only tape the bottom part of your ring finger). I would also recommend taping the bottom of the splint to your hand so that the splint doesn't shift while bowling

this one is similar to the one that i used. It takes some time to get used to it but the pain that i had was very minimal.
