i took a treadmill and removed the motor, used a recipricating saw and cut off part of the frame it was attatched to and mounted it on a cabinet i had in the garage. i had to diconnect the wires that went to the control panel, (it's a 2 1/5 hp motor that will go 8 mph). so to control the speed, you will need the panel. i have the motor mounted with a bracket so the fly-wheel is facing up, it is cast iron so i drilled 3 holes in it and mounted a flower pot on it to set the ball in. i had some time to build this since i was on medical leave for shoulder surgery. it took about 2 days to get it right, but the treadmill belt was bad so we were going to throw it away. this thing will go so fast, twice my finger inserts have flown out. it is perfect for putting a coat of polish or ruff-buff on it cause you can really get the heat to it to get the polish into the ball. total cost for me, about $4.00, counting bracket and flower pot. i love it. i was bored so this is what i came up with. i wish i could put a picture of it.
