what hand position or release induces the most skid on the ball?

those that have higher axis rotation and/or higher tilt can produce more skid vs. those with lower axis rotation and/or lower tilt.

if the hand position is more to the side of the ball at release and/or your hand turns early and you "top" or "spin" the ball, you'll produce more skid. tilt i believe is the timing of the thumb exiting the thumb hole. Earlier thumb release lower tilt, late thumb release increases it.

staying behind the ball at release lowers rotation end over end roll.
