That is a great quantum, too bad its not 15. Funny thing is everybody I saw with one had it polished.
None come dull with the lines like that because of the abralon pads and other methods for resurfacing that rotates the ball while being sanded.
That ball is probably 600 grit or so. Columbia has a lot of dull equipment. But none will have those lines from one direction sanding, and will probably not be that dull. But anything you buy from your local shop can be dulled more if needed. They will usually do it for free if you ask them when buying the ball to make a sell.
Like mentioned earlier many people don't face the lane conditions that require a ball to be that dull. Most only require some light surface sanding. It would be helpful for a low rev player on heavy oil but for many people it's going to hook early and die.
