I used to practice a lot more than I have lately. Between work, college classes, leagues and having a life, I only practice a couple of times a week. When I do practice, I just work on whatever I feel like is giving me trouble. Lately it has been the free, relaxed armswing vs. the muscled swing I've let creep back into my game. Targeting, follow through, spares. All of these get worked on at some point in time or another.
I think my next practice (tonite) will be on spares. Last night I put up a 155 game that looked like this:
split, double, open, washout, double, open, strike, split - Game 1 - 5 strikes, 5 open frames.
I didn't get my first spare of the night until the 5th frame of game 2. I started game 2 with a turkey, solid 7 that I entirely whiffed, followed by a 4 pin that I miraculously converted, sheet for a 255. The scenic route to +10
Spares definitely are the center of my attention for practice now. I've let myself slip in that category and I cannot afford that.
