Do you have a favorite........

......playful rib at your teammates?

We are all in the 180-220 range (but then again, isn't every team? ) on my Thursday night league.

When one of us leaves a 2-4-5-7-8 or a Greek Church or a big washout, it's virtually a race to belt out, "OK, now let's get the other half!".

What are our favorite ribs out there?

The gutter one is good...

We like to twist around the "On the 1" (For a single pin spare)

Don't ever be afraid to tell him, "OK, on the TEN"

How about when someone tugs one real bad? Someone will act like they are jacking a round in a pump shotgun & yell "PULL".

Another one is when you leave a 10 pin. Someone will take a cell phone toward the approach & tell him to answer the ringing 10.

works real well the ball has already gone into the pit.

If someone on my team throws a gutter ball on the first ball, we yell "Jager." That person owes us all a round. The whole league has picked it up.

If one of us throws a real bad shot, we have a guy that usually says, "if you wait, your ball will be right back."

I someone marks in the 10th and walks off, we tell him he has a "bonus ball."

One time a friend of mine stoned an 8 pin, he came back and asked "What was wrong witht that one?"

Another guy answered, "It was in your second step, an as$ hair must of wiggled."

Got a kick out of that one, when we get robbed anymore we come back and say dang, @ss hair must of wiggled.

Another good one is when someone stones an 8 pin or tosses it in the ditch just start yelling, "more hand!, needed more hand!"

I have a teammate on my Monday Night Classic League(mostly all 200+bowlers) he has grey/silver hair. He was talking one night now his wife bought him a THONG for valentine's day!

SSSOOOOO he brought this on himself. I said how he looks like Bea Aurther(probably spelled wrong). For those of you unsure who she is she was Dorothy on the Golden Girls. She also had a program in the 70s called Maude. WELL.....I have nicknamed him Maude and seemingly everyone is calling him that these days.

Someone gets a Brooklyn, we tell them it doesn't count, it's considered slop unless you call it before the shot.

after leaving a solid 8 or 9, always had fun with "is there a proctologist in the house?"

or when in the pocket and leaving the 4/9, 7/10, or the 8/10 "this lane needs a plumber cause no matter how many times I flush, I'm still leaving crap."

There's a bowler in my Monday night league that throws at single pins at about 25 mph.  This week, he threw at a 10 pin and missed it in the gutter. The ball went in the pit and bounced right back out and back into the gutter, under the sweep and came back down the lane to him.  We hollered "That shot was so bad the ball rejected it".  I've never seen someone get that red.  --  JohnP

If we leave a flat 10 my teammates and I will applaud that "at least we got the 5 out clean."  Same goes for stone 8's, "got the 10 out clean."

Also on flat 10's or 5's we'll try and copy a phrase from the 70's telecasts - "He got a handful on that one..."

If someone sails one to the ditch or tugs like crazy we'll yell HOLD!  We've done the HOOK! when it's in the gutter for years.

On the college team we have a yell from the movie "Saving Silverman" when Jack Black is running into a house he yells "A-COMIN' INNNN, YEAH-HAAA!"  We use it in big situations: when someone's on a string, 10th frame, winning shots, and the like.  That one's probably my favorite.

When someone is struggling and they finally strike we give them the encouragment: "Great strike, but that's the easy lane..."  We also use it when someone's killing it: "Yeah, but that's the easy lane, throw 8 in a row on the other lane..."

We have a guy who utilizes a lot of loft in later games so we all analyze his "Z-Axis" adjustments.

If someone completely whiffs a wahsout or split we let them know "a couple more shots and you'd pick that up."

I like this thread, let's keep 'em coming.

We had a guy in our league a few years ago who had a 180 book average, came into our league, shot several 298s, a 299, several HIGH 700s, an 815, and still managed to book 187. He could strike from anywhere on the lane, but didn't even care about spares.
If he threw what he thought was a great shot (and weren't they all), and left a 5 pin (happened more than you'd think), he'd get really, really upset. His name was "Randall". Now, when my teammate or I leave a "ripped 5 pin", we were Randalled.

Another favorite (this one actually from my mother, 40+ years ago) when talking about a guy who KNOWS he's God's gift to bowling "I want to buy him for the bowler he is, and sell him for the bowler he thinks he is."
