If we leave a flat 10 my teammates and I will applaud that "at least we got the 5 out clean." Same goes for stone 8's, "got the 10 out clean."
Also on flat 10's or 5's we'll try and copy a phrase from the 70's telecasts - "He got a handful on that one..."
If someone sails one to the ditch or tugs like crazy we'll yell HOLD! We've done the HOOK! when it's in the gutter for years.
On the college team we have a yell from the movie "Saving Silverman" when Jack Black is running into a house he yells "A-COMIN' INNNN, YEAH-HAAA!" We use it in big situations: when someone's on a string, 10th frame, winning shots, and the like. That one's probably my favorite.
When someone is struggling and they finally strike we give them the encouragment: "Great strike, but that's the easy lane..." We also use it when someone's killing it: "Yeah, but that's the easy lane, throw 8 in a row on the other lane..."
We have a guy who utilizes a lot of loft in later games so we all analyze his "Z-Axis" adjustments.
If someone completely whiffs a wahsout or split we let them know "a couple more shots and you'd pick that up."
I like this thread, let's keep 'em coming.
