Do you hold onto Honor Score balls?
« on: April 06, 2005, 06:13:22 PM »
I have a bunch of 16s I don't use anymore, but I keep them in the closet racks and garage for keepsake.

Am I alone here? I'll never use these balls again most likely.

They include:

El Nino
Inferno
Inferno
Boss Titanium
Rhino Pro Gold
Rhino Pro Gold
Monster Red/Black
Ninja

No... The ball I shot my second 300 with (pearl urethane rhino) got tossed in an empty dumpster.  Geez, that made a lot of noize.  It was 10+ years old and had a cracked core.

On the other hand, I do have my first 300 ball... It's a Target Zone that I haven't used in years.

No. I sold one to a friend and am still useing the others. Can't see keeping a ball I have no more use for.

My first sanctioned 300 ball I still have (Colossus)
2nd 300, non sanctioned summer league I sold (Wicked)
First and only 800 (practice of course) I sold as well (Eraser)

I will keep my Colossus around forever because that ball bails me out big time on short oil/reverse block patterns (rolls like a Blue Hammer, hits 10x's harder though).

Hell, when I threw my 300 game with my Ti Boss II, I kept that sum biatch....plaqued the scoresheet, and put up a shelf in my home office where those two items reside, along with the ring in its case still.

You should be damn proud of your first 300 game (or anything you deem as an honor score, if your proud of it, its an honor).  Not everyone can accomplish such a feat!!

I have a 6 foot long Brunswick ball rack from the 60's in my den.  I keep all kinds of balls for different reasons.  I keep my Vicious(300) and my Cobalt Rhino(298) on it.  Also my Ebonite Black Turbo(Dallas City Champion) is there.  I have given away a number of special balls. The one I miss the most is my Black Rhino(TCBA National Champion).  I know where that one is and it is still in use.  An incredible ball!  Some balls I keep and others I had down to a friend,

I gave my 800 ball to one of the youth bowlers. It was close enough to his span so I let him throw it and he loved the reaction. he was going to buy one but it is the original Dynothane Element which are hard to find so I gave it to him. Always willing to help the next generation of bowlers and who knows it may give him an 800 as well.

Thanks, cooksey

Columbia Rock Star 16lb. Still have it, do not use it. Have switched to 15lb, so it is not likely I ever will again. Shot 800 with it twice (854+826) and two 300 games, various other high games and series with it too. Will not sell it. I will keep that one. It does have a lot of sentimental value.

I rolled my first honor score (299) last month with a Phenom Unleashed and I will be holding on to it.
