Do you like where you bowl?
« on: October 28, 2008, 07:32:01 AM »
Hey guys Do you like where you bowl? Why or why not? I ask because last couple of season I really haven't liked where I have bowled and was wondering if anyone else encounters the same thing or if I am that much of prick that no one wants me around except my teammates which follow me around from bowling alley to bowling alley.

I love where I bowl this season T&O Lanes in Oshkosh WI. Over the top returns no hand dryers and no auto score just an old school place that is very kept up lanes are 20 feet of Guardian then wood after that. the atmosphere is awesome their are no jerks their just a group of bowlers lookikng to be loud and have a really good time. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a change.

Who said I did (like to bowl where I do.)

No choice. It is the only house for 50 miles in any direction.

This is a tough one for me. I moved to Albert Lea, MN from Sioux Falls, SD last August. I bowled in Albert Lea last season. It was hard for me to adjust to knowing everyone I bowled with and against to knowing nobody. It was nice to start in a new town where I felt like I was not under the shadow of my brother. So parts of me like bowling here although I am currently not bowling this season. However on the other hand I don't like bowling here.

Yeah, I like where I'm at this season.  It's by far the hardest house I've ever bowled in, but it's testing my skills.  I'm averaging 22 pins LESS here!!  Besides, you can't beat the customer service there.  It's top shelf in my opinion.

This is an easy question..........I love where I bowl but HATE the team I bowl with.  My only other choice for a center is 60 miles away and my parents do NOT own it!  LOL!

I love the house I bowl in. (Heritage Lanes in OKC)

This house has the best lanes and the best well maintained lanes in this area. If there is a better house, I am not aware of it. Blvd. Bowl in Edmond was once the best house in this area, but it has gone down hill the last few years. It was already slipping and then when AMF took it over, it got worse. They ahve lost a lot of business to the house I bowl in the past 2-3 years.

There is a house 5 minutes from where I live.  A few times a week the wife and I make a 30-minute trek to bowl at Earl Anthony's.  It is worth every minute of the drive.

I really like the lanes and the house i bowl in. The owner is really nice and curtious, they maintain teh lanes well and have a decent proshop. The bar has good food and drinks at reasonable prices. All in all a great place.

I bowl at a nice independent center in Rocky Mount, NC.  It is simply named "The Bowling Center."

Nice synthetic lanes with wood approaches.  It's got a nice local feel to it where there is a sense of community within the walls.  The PBA South region has an annual stop here in May, a fact which lends a bit of credibility to the center's upkeep.  Lanes are dressed with a nice Kegel machine (versus that horrible AMF machine from a couple years ago) which puts out a nice consistent shot.  All in all, its a good place to bowl.

There are a couple of AMF centers in the local area (within 30 miles of my house) that are OK, but sometimes it's hard to beat the independent centers with a caring owner who stops in on a regular basis.

Yes I like where I bowl. The owner reinvests money into the center. In the past three years we have gotten brand new synthetic lanes, wood was beat up bad, new Brunswick scoring and seating, the couches not the awful tables with swivel chairs. When you say there's couches people think it's a joke but they are comfortable and the teams tend to stay in the bowling area sitting together. My only knock is that it's 45 minutes away, grew up with one 10 minutes away that has now closed.

I like where I bowl.  The employees are top notch and the place is kept clean.  The lane conditions can be brutal at times and frustrating, but this is year 31 so I guess I'll keep coming back.

My 2nd house, I did like bowling in the sport league there, as maddening as it can be at times.  The employees are not as on the ball as at my home center, but very nice people.

Well all my friends are there and it's only 3 miles away but they did raise the beer to over twelve dollars a pitcher.  This is ridiculous because the price went up almost 15 percent.  Now this brings me to an American institution selling out to a foreign brewer.  I will be drinking Yuengling rather than bud from now on.
