do you think my game suffers...
« on: March 21, 2008, 01:20:49 PM »
I have to ask the opinion of every one on the board.

Would you guys say  game/carry suffers because I throw harder and turn it harder than most?I usually throw between high 18s and low 19s but I can go all the way down to 15 and up to 22+ when I need to.  I ask because I continually see people slop them in their and carry the whole planet and I crush them and nothing happens.

Not ranting just asking for your thoughts. this could also be construed as a question for bowlwers that throw hard to begin with.

You just focus on the garbage hits...I used to have the same problem.

We as competitors tend to store our own breaks in VERY short term memory...and other's good breaks in LONG term memory.

I dont have that problem at our place. I throw about 18 MPH plus, most of the time and never have any carry problems. If your getting in there with no entry angle then that can cause a lot of 10s and 8s to stand but usually speed helps with messengers. Really speed is not that big of a factor as long as you can get some decent entry angle into the pocket, if slowing it down is what it takes to get that angle then do it, but me I usually change my release or line and it fixes it.

Two combinations that are not desireable:

1- Slow speed with lots of revs,
2- High speed with not enough revs.

Both of the above scenarios create inconsistent ball reaction.  If you throw it hard you've got to have high revs or your game will suffer.
