Did anybody else catch the "Documentary Now!" episode "Any Given Saturday Afternoon" on IFC the other day? For those who don't know, it's a mocumentary series that parodies any number of subjects. In this case, the subject is professional bowlers, and there are some very obvious characters portrayed in the episode, from the Rob Stone inspired announcer (and nicknames for certain bowling achievements) to the "Bad Boy" with daddy issues, as well as the utterly boring all-time best bowler who hangs out with retirees and hides a disturbing secret. Anyway, if you're someone who can't laugh at bowling then you won't like it, but I thought it was pretty hilarious in spots.

If I had to guess I would say it's inspired by Wayne Webb circa "League of Ordinary Gentleman". Of course, Wayne is doing much better these days.
