Yes, Rhino's the real deal
« on: February 05, 2004, 09:20:33 AM »
He's 23rd after the third round of qualifying.  They now cut to the top fourth and bowl 9 games, then cut to the top 24 for match play.  His first ever PBA event on a TOUGH shot, and he's 23rd out of the 360 that entered.  He's THAT GOOD.  Got to talk to him today, he said the first day went pretty good, but that the heads were getting drier and the backends were getting tighter for everyone.  He needed his drill sheet faxed over, and apparently the new balls worked well, he shot 1300-something for the 6 games today.  On a side note, Jesse James also made the first cut, he's a great bowler also.  I don't know him that well, but I'm pulling for both of them.  It would be AWESOME to see Rhino on the show.  He's sitting in a nice spot so far, and with the day he had today, I'm looking for him to make the top 24.  Pulling for him big time!

OK, I'll ask the question.
Who is "Rhino"?

Rhino Page, a young bowler out of California currently a sophomore bowling for the University of Kansas.  I'm sure Hamster can enlighten us more about him and his accomplishments.

yeah, like I have said on this site many times before I use to bowl juniors with Rhino when he was in California. Anyways, I went down to Fountain Valley last night, to watch him in his last squad of qualifying. Guess what? I dont know what he did to get to bowl with PDW all week for qualifying! Haha. But he was. Anyways, as you can see he is doing very good, and believe me, he is throwing the ball GREAT! I haven seen him bowl for a good year now. But I havent seen him throw it this good ever. He keeps it up, which I am sure he can, he will be up there, no doubt. I got tickets for sunday, so I am excited. My first time to go to a telecast finally! As I had told Rhino at Starbucks last night after he was done bowling, "I hope to see him on Sunday." And believe me it is possible. With how great he is throwing the ball and staying n there mentally, and also the friends and family he has beind him. I hope to see him on sunday.
