Lets not talk about my scores today only what the problem was.

I am quite a quick bowler but have multiple timing issues (arrive at the line early, do not let the ball swing properly and find it real hard to put the ball out and let it drop) and today I had a rel problem. I was bowling on dry lanes with wetter backends, I was using my least reactive ball (that fits), an X-factor, stock coverstock. I couldn't get into the pocket from my normal position 11th board and over 2nd arrow, talking to my coach (who is INCREDIBLE and knows me very well) told me to move right oer to the left. So i stood on the 35th board and put it over 3rd, it got to the pocket but just went straight, there was no entry angle at all. I am a stroker/tweener. I had my hand under the ball and had finger partially spread.
I tried other positions but the ball would hook past the pocket or just hook and then carry on foward with no backend.

Help.

Looks like trouble with your alignment. Normally you are 11 to 10 a 1 board difference. Then with tight backends your are 35 to 15 a 20 board difference. If there was any oil inside you were missing it by throwing it to the track. If there was anything inside maybe something like 30 to 20 would work.
